  MY COLLECTION OF NATIVITY SCENES

Before I made miniatures and dollshouses I did a lot of origami ( japanese paper folding art).
Using this technique I tried to fold as small as possible to made all kinds of dollshouse scenes.

In 1991 I made my first two Nativity scenes in origami.

A Nativity scene made using coloured origami paper in a little matchbox. 1 5/8"x 1 1/8"

A Nativity scene made using white origami paper in a large matchbox. 3"x 2".

The same year I visited the Nativity exhibition in De Heilig Land Stichting in Nijmegen.
It was great!
I was astonished to see so many different Nativity Scenes from all over the world.
In the museum shop they sold Nativity scenes and I bought a few.

1992

I bought these white plastic figures at the dollshouse fair in Arnhem. After I painted them I glued them back into the box they came in.   1 1/4"x 1".

Than I stopped collecting until……………………I found out that making Nativity scenes was fun!

2000

I made this Nativity scene out of wood, little branches, moss, paper and beads. 1"x 3/4".

2001

Wooden stable with fimo figures. Made by Manja Nelen. 1 3/8"x 1 1/8".

These fimo figures were made by Veronica Vleugels. I made the stable. 1 1/2"x 1 1/4"

2002

Sometimes I had to guess how to put them together as there was no description.
Most of the time there was no base, so I made them myself.
